This is one of the latest Anbernic devices that uses a widescreen 5.4" AMOLED screen. it is the competitor to the Retroid pocket 4, and we expect it to perform very similarly, One of the standout features of this item is it's beautiful AMOLED screen that runs at 1080p. The colors are vivid and the contrast is ultra sharp, it is one of the most beautiful screens we've come across.

including optional cases for the device, these cases are a silver color with classic NES design and are padded, they're a good quality build, they are a bit thin, when you close the case and zip them you may feel the joystick buttons clicking which is normal but the cases are perfect size with some side space allowing you to also store your charger cable as well, add it to your cart with your device to protect your handheld.

Additionally, you have the option of selecting either 512GB or 1TB of SD card storage (we use reliable and reputable name brand SD cards, no generics). You'll be able to jump into gaming action without the need to spend hours setting them up (personal customizations/settings may be applied to your liking as well).

The newly released Retroid pocket 4 consoles are available in 6 color variations with an upgraded 4GB and 8GB of RAM, 128GB internal storage and 512GB or 1TB of SD card space with configured Retorarch, Aethesx2, Dolphin, Redream, Duckstation, M64Plus FZ, PPSSPP, games library, and other emulators, You'll also have access to Daijisho launcher as well, Daijisho is partially set up to cover the most popular systems and you can also easily add more systems to the launcher as well.

Which version is right for you? If you are a serious gamer looking into playing more of the newer generation systems as well as expanded libraries of 3DS, GC and PS2 then go with the RP4 Pro with 1TB storage.
If you just need general gaming experience and broad coverage of GC PS2 and older systems then go with the RP4 with 512 GB of storage, this will cover all the major systems before the early 2000s era of gaming.

The RG556 will support PS2 through Aethersx2 and GC but it'll depend on the game itself, vast majority of these libraries are comfortably playable
RG556 specs:
5.4″ AMOLED Touch Screen (1080p)
Unisoc T820 CPU
Mali-G57 GPU
8GB RAM
128GB of internal storage.
5000MAH Battery
WiFi & Bluetooth

Android emulation: The learning curve for Android emulation requires some effort, If you are familiar with using Android phones or iOS then the learning curve will not be too difficult as you change apps. You'll become familiar with operating and using the various Android emulators mentioned above that are included, although these emulators are set up it is the user's duty to learn the basics of how to use them, there are plenty of tutorials on basic knowledge regarding these emulators. If you are new to Android emulation, perhaps consider something like a Linux OS system if you're unsure how to use this software.

Where this handheld shines:

** Performance: We can now comfortably play many of the titles which were very difficult to emulate on the Anbernic RG505 or RP3+, you will notice that the GC and PS2 library will widely expand to cover the vast majority of the library and be able to play them at higher resolution as well, the RP4 Pro will be ideal for those who are looking for strictly playing the higher end systems is it offers double the RAM memory at 8GB and CPU core assignment.
Another major addition to these devices is the active cooling fans and software profiles to switch between modes depending on usage. The system allows for switching between standard, performance, and high performance modes as well as controlling the speed of the fans.

**Excellent AMOLED 1080p display and sharp resolution, pixels are sharp and brightness is just right

**Game streaming, you can set up your streaming apps such as Moonlight, PSplay, cloud streaming, etc.

**Design, The design is similar to the ayaneo devices but some improvements have been implemented with the button layout, the start and select buttons are positioned in a much more ergonomic and accessible location compared to the older Anbernic systems and RP3. The new 3D Hall joysticks have been improved with a more concave design allowing for better grip and control the trigger buttons are also a welcomed improvement, they are less clicky compared to the RP3, the d-pad is also a bit different with a little bit more travel to it. The ABXY buttons are also less clicky compared to the RP3 and they are more silent, overall this design is a welcomed improvement. Additionally, the active cooling system is an excellent added feature for better cooling during prolonged gaming sessions, the induction vent in the back as well as the output vent on the top will allow this unit to run cooler.
The transparent blue model is an acrylic clear finish that is quite smooth and it could be a bit slippery if not kept clean of oils and dirt. the black model has a satin finish and feel which is similar to many other devices on the market.

**Battery Life, After many hours of testing we noticed the battery is excellent, estimated at 7-8 hours of battery depending on brightness and use.

**Android 13, has an improved interface and intuitive gestures similar to most Android OS devices on the market, if you enjoy gaming on an Android phone then you'll love the updated OS.

The PSP, DC, N64, PS1, PS2, and Gamecube standalone emulators and RetroArch have already been set up for you which will save countless hours of initial setup, we've completed the following:

**Latest OTA update applied

**Installed APK files

**Organizing the library and scanning each individual folder

**Proper formatting and organizing of the SD card

**Fixing interface settings in RA

**Downloading each core for retroarch and updating them

**Setting up artwork download **Controller mapping
