The latest product from Anbernic that we have configured for plug and play so you don't have to, the RG405V, the device is similar in specs to the RG405M but in a vertical Gameboy DMG form factor, this device also includes a large 5500 mAH battery which will give you at least 8-12 hours of battery life depending on usage.
This device was designed for ergonomics in mind as it is quite bulkier than other devices such as the RG353v, RG405m and other similar devices. One of the unique features is the added active cooling with a built-in fan and top vent for prolonged gaming, this allows for better cooling during heavy gaming.
The Anbernic RG405V runs on 8 cores, 4GB RAM, 128GB built-in memory, 4" 640x480 display with 512GB Sandisk/Samsung/PNY branded fully configured/loaded expansion SD card.

Included with this unit are the USB-C cable, screen protector+wipes, operating instructions, premium Samsung, PNY, or SanDisk SD card, and configured emulators similar to the RP3 Plus and rg505 Android machines.

Similar to our Retroid Pocket 3 and other Android systems of this generation, we have configured these emulators and scanned libraries within Retroarch, Redream, PPSSPP, N64, Duckstation, Aethersx2, and Dolphin which will save you many hours of configuring and setting them up yourself. You may have to adjust settings for certain titles within Dolphin and aethersx2 to get the best performance possible, often changing resolution, applying frame skip, etc will yield better results, there's a link for ideal settings provided within the instructions sheet, if you don't mind tinkering then you'll be able to squeeze the most power out of this unit.

The Daijisho Launcher is setup for the most popular Atari, Sony, Sega, and Nintendo systems, etc saving you additional time to do so as well.

We now have a custom OS option for Gamma OS which performs about 20% better according to many testers when running GC and PS2. Installing Gamma OS firmware is not for the faint of heart and does take much time and effort, and risks associated with the installation process, and requires some knowledge to do so.

Features of Gamma OS:
**Easily toggle through performance mode and battery saving modes with quick commands
**Built-in daijisho launcher, made easier to set up and scroll seamlessly through apps, widgets, etc.
**Shaders and resolution adjusted accordingly for the hardware, games look and play as the original versions
**added RP3+ drivers to improve gameplay for GC and PS2
**Easily swap controller layout to Xbox or NES style
**L2 and R2 issue fixed, allowing usage for Android games
**Quick commands to change screen brightness
and much more.

The Anbernic RG405V is one of the latest and most powerful Android-based devices that can support up to GameCube and PS2 emulation, these devices come in two colors; grey and black, and the retro Gameboy DMG format is a very nice premium design, Anbernic puts some effort into producing these machines and they're some of the most appealing designs we've had from Anbernic.

Overall we are very satisfied with the performance results. We're satisfied with the performance after testing this system which can play older systems without problems(N64, PS1, DC) as well as the majority of GameCube with good frame rates, you may have to resort to tweaking the settings within the dolphin emulator for certain games to achieve maximum performance but other than that emulation is pleasant and playable overall. PS2 emulation is playable overall and with overclock settings and tweaks we can probably play the vast majority of the library, there have been many reports that it can emulate many popular titles, it will require quite a bit of tinkering however with aethersx2 to get the most out of it, this piece of software hasn't been well developed and Android OS does not offer many PS2 emulator options, if you need better PS2 support then maybe look into the win600 or Onexplayer.

Based on the cost-to-performance per dollar ratio we would rank this unit fairly high due to its abilities and the price range for the performance that it delivers, it is on par with similarly priced handheld consoles within its class and specs.

Hardware: some of the best features of this device are the 4" ultra sharp 4:3 aspect ratio LCD screen, large 5500 mAH battery, Hall sensor joysticks which prevent joystick drift. Furthermore, the joysticks use Hall sensors which are ideal for stick drift prevention, this technology uses magnetic components instead of the traditional mechanical internal components that can often wear out and cause stick drift which is notorious with a lot of handhelds. Using the device for prolonged periods is also pleasant, the rounded corners and back allow for easy holding and the rounded backplate on the back side of the unit allows for better grip and holding on to the console.

The small bottom speakers under the console are also very loud and clear with very good sound quality. One noticeable feature that has also been added to this hardware is the home/back button that Anbernic has added, this feature makes it especially seamless when exiting emulators instead of swiping on the screen to pull up the menu to exit an emulator, the button is basically a quick access home button, select and start in front for easy accessibility.

Google Play store is also built in which will enable you to download apps and other Android APK data, previously Anbernic did not include Google Play and required a tedious process to install it, you no longer have to do this.

512GB version: the system will support classic systems 8, 16, 32, and 64 and will further expand on GC and include PS2 support as well with dolphin and aethersx2 setup.

The OTA updates are also built into the system, we've already had two updates while testing this unit which indicates that Anbernic are putting a lot of effort into making this device function better as time goes on.
