For those who are familiar with the rgb10 max 2, this is essentially "RGB 10 Max 3"

with a larger screen, better processor, and more RAM, overall performance is also better than the rgb10 max 2.

This is one of the latest Powkiddy devices with the newer rk3566 chip which is commonly used on other popular devices such as the 353 line of products from Anbernic. 

The X55 is a new RK3556 device and one of the first of its kind to offer a 5.5" LCD display. Performance is improved compared to the older rk3226 devices and we can expect systems such as N64, and DC, PSP to play much more efficiently on this unit.

The 256 GB card that is included is optimized to support all these systems and the older generation of 8-bit to 64-bit systems spanning over 55+ systems supported and 50 years of classic gaming.

Hardware review: the unit is well-built with a similar case design as the RGB10 Max 2, it is also of similar weight and does not feel bulky, it comes with a nice plastic case and a satin blue finish. There's an added feature of a mini HDMI output for connecting to the television/monitor as well.

The start, select, and volume buttons have been relocated to the bottom front of the faceplate, it does take some getting used to but overall functionality doesn't change much. The Joysticks are low profile and do not stick out much, you may be able to carry it in your pocket, but a carry case would make this ideal for traveling. The dual speakers are also loud and located at the bottom, obstruction with hands is not an issue but they're close to the palms.

The buttons are responsive and comfortable to use, and the trigger and L, R buttons are clicky and similar to the many Anbernic or Powkiddy devices.

Our favorite standout feature: the large ultra sharp 5.5" screen is perfect for systems such as PSP and other widescreen format systems. The system has Bluetooth added for those who want to use Bluetooth controllers while using it as a home console or perhaps connect to wireless Bluetooth headsets, speakers, etc.
