If you need some retro systems to play on your OLED or original Steam Deck then either the 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB SD card are perfect for your needs.

This custom Batocera OS emulation system for the Steam deck will also allow you to enjoy some retro emulation on your Deck without having to spend countless hours setting it up yourself.

We have been working on this system for a while and have been customizing it and decided to make it available to those who have a steam deck system, we are meticulous about our work and have customized this system to utilize higher resolution and widescreen tweaks, making some newer generation games utilize the whole steam deck screen, they look quite beautiful on this device.

Which option is right for you?

**The 256GB, 512GB and 1TB are dedicated to Batocera emulation only and cannot be used on the Steam OS side to install Steam games, this is ideal for those who have large Steam Deck SSD or don't need any internal space.

***The 256GB will support few PS2 titles and older generation systems, more ideal for casual gamers who want older retro systems.

***The 512GB expands on PS2 and GC as well as openbor and older generation systems, ideal for those who wants a broad selection of systems.

***The 1TB will use the whole storage and will be fully utilized and supports more 3DS, GC, PS2, PS3, Wii U, switch and newer generation systems, ideal for enthusiast gamers who want a large selection.

Using the SD card is very easy and switching between Batocera and Steam OS is a breeze. Booting into it requires holding the Volume down button for a few seconds and exiting just requires a restart and system will boot into Steam OS automatically.

This particular software for the steam deck is an excellent retro collection that will take you back in time, it is quite amazing what this machine can achieve, supporting about 70+ systems and about 32-35k titles.

Fully configured and loaded systems: Amstrad CPC, Amiga, amstrad gx4000, Mame arcade, Atari 2600, Atari 800, Atari 7800, Atari lynx, Atari Jaguar, Wonderswan, Wonderswan color, colecovision, commodore 64, MS DOS, scummvm, Odyssey 2, Intellivision, Vectrex, msx 1,2, PC Engine, PC Engine CD, supergrafix, NES, Gameboy, Gameboy color, Gameboy advance, SNES, N64, GameCube, pokemini, NDS, Panasonic 3do, openbor, ports, Sega atomiswave, SG-1000, Sega master system, Genesis/mega drive, game gear, Sega CD, Sega Saturn, model 3, Dreamcast, Naomi, Sinclair ZX spectrum, Neogeo, Neogeo CD, Neogeo pocket, pocket color, solarus, PS1, PS2, PS3 , switch, 3ds, PSP, Wii, Wii u.

Test results on the steam deck:

Nintendo 64 at 1080P resolution for the more difficult titles such as KI Gold, cruisin' USA and more yielding excellent gameplay.

PSP: running at 4x resolution, +FXAA antialiasing for GTA as a sample also yielded smooth gameplay

DC: At 1440p gameplay was excellent for many titles tested, you can expect no issues here.

GC: X2 resolution, Metroid, MK double dash ran great, F-zero GX, was playable but did have some audio distortions at X2, would expect at least 99%+ of GC library to be playable at 1080P-1440P resolution.

Wii: it is capable of emulating most Wii titles.

PS2: tested many Sony exclusives and they were very playable on this console, further testing is needed to determine what is supported, but we'd guess that over 95% of PS2 should be playable at 1440P and all should be playable at native resolution. PS3, 3DS and switch are also playable on this device and performance is very stable.

What's Included:

** Batocera SD card size of choice for the steam deck

What makes this system great:

**Ability to add or delete your ROMs in the future if you wish

**Wireless play, Bluetooth, game saves, and loading saved data.

**Retroachievements, although when it's enabled this can conflict with some systems but it should work fine.

**Retorarch features, applying shaders, and aspect ratios, recording a game, modifying controller settings, and much more.

**Rare and obscure titles, such as modified classics with hacks and having many requests from customers have led to collecting a large trove of rare gems from Japan and other regions, it is always great to try a new game you never heard of and be pleasantly surprised how amazing they are.

**Widescreen hacks for newer systems and dozens of themes, beautiful bezels that fill up the side space when using widescreen monitors and TVs, giving it a polished and professional look.

**Game descriptions, ratings, release date, and many other details are displayed in the game selection menu, also includes beautiful artwork, 3D box art, screenshots, and wheel art are all built-in, you can customize the menu to your liking with the ability to change the size of wheel art, and many other fine details about displaying games in the selection area, you can also scrape box art if you add your ROMs.

**Support for a wide selection of controller models, anything with a USB should be detectable and working, Bluetooth is also another option, Bluetooth receivers also work well and may require remapping of the buttons, but most versions are plug and play refer to Batocera wiki page on additional information.

Controller detection is a breeze if you choose to use the steam deck as a PC, for the majority of the brands including some of the popular models from 8-bitDo, Sony, and Xbox and even some of the China third-party controllers are plug-and-play and do not require much to get them going unless you are trying to configure if you are using a simple gamepad without joystick support then it may require some additional configurations within the individual emulator itself, especially if you are trying to play Dreamcast, n64, or PSP.
